Senior Blockchain Engineer – Blockchain / DeFi (Up to £200k per annum)
Location: Dubai preferred, or remote within ±4 hours GST (Europe: UK, Spain, Germany)

Key Responsibilities
Architect and optimise blockchain systems for security, performance, and scalability
Develop, audit, and integrate smart contracts within decentralised protocols
Research and implement new blockchain concepts, tools, and best practices
Build and improve cross-chain interoperability solutions, such as swaps and bridges
Develop efficient algorithms with an eye on resource and gas optimisation
Define and maintain CI/CD pipelines for blockchain development
Identify and mitigate potential security risks in smart contracts and protocols
Mentor engineers, conduct thorough code reviews, and enforce best practices
Collaborate with auditors and multi-functional teams to ensure successful deploymen
Requirements
7+ years of software development experience, including 3+ years in blockchain-focused roles
Strong understanding of blockchain ecosystems, smart contracts (Solidity, Yul, EVM), and dApps
Hands-on experience with Ethereum, Layer 2 solutions (Optimistic & ZK Rollups), and cross-chain protocols (bridges, atomic swaps, etc.)
Proven experience in technical leadership, architecture, and mentoring
Solid grasp of blockchain security principles and smart contract auditing
Skills & Tools
Proficiency in Solidity, Yul, Rust, TypeScript
Experience with smart contract frameworks (e.g., Foundry, Hardhat)
Understanding of DeFi primitives, such as AMMs, liquidity pools, and oracle integrations
Experience building high-performance, distributed systems
Strong focus on security, reliability, and maintainability
