We’re working with a fast-growing, venture-backed AI startup in the UK that’s building genuinely impactful products using machine learning at scale. They’re now looking for a Machine Learning Engineer to join their core engineering team and play a key role in shaping both the product and the ML function from an early stage.

What you’ll be doing
Designing, building and deploying machine learning models into production
Working closely with backend engineers, product managers and data teams to turn ideas into real features
Building and maintaining ML pipelines (training, evaluation, deployment, monitoring)
Improving model performance, scalability and reliability in a production environment
Experimenting with new approaches and contributing to model architecture decisions
Taking ownership of ML systems end-to-end — from data to deployment
What they’re looking for
Strong experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or similar role
Solid Python skills and experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow or JAX
Experience deploying ML models into production (not just notebooks)
Good understanding of data pipelines, model evaluation and monitoring
Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure)
Comfortable working in a startup / fast-moving environment
A pragmatic mindset — you care about shipping, not just theory
Nice to have (but not essential)
Experience with LLMs, NLP or generative AI
MLOps experience (Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD for ML)
Background in applied ML rather than purely academic research
Previous experience in an early-stage or scaling startup
