IT Support Engineer

Salary - £35 - £43k

Work Pattern: Hybrid – mainly office, site-based with occasional WFH

Having your own vehicle and a Full Driving License is a Requirement for this position.

Connect IT has partnered with an IT Solutions partner based in Reading who are looking to hire an IT Support Engineer to join their team. This role will involve some management of an individual which will report to you as well as conducting yourself professionally, working hands on providing technical support and managing the IT infrastructure across multiple sites.

Responsibilities

Respond to user inquiries, troubleshoot technical problems, and provide effective solutions for hardware, software, and network issues.

Install, configure, and maintain hardware components and software applications, ensuring they are up-to-date and secure.

Develop and deliver user training sessions, and create and update documentation for troubleshooting, FAQs, and knowledge base articles.

Provide remote and on-site assistance to users, addressing issues through phone, email, and remote desktop tools. Flexibility to work outside of core hours when necessary to conduct maintenance or provide critical support.

Utilize monitoring tools to proactively identify and address potential system issues, and perform routine system maintenance tasks to optimize performance.

Work with other IT professionals to escalate and resolve complex technical problems, contributing to a cohesive and efficient IT support team.

Requirements

Excellent ability to convey technical information clearly to non-technical users and collaborate effectively within the IT team.

Customer-focused mindset dedicated to providing user support and ensuring a positive support experience.

Effective organisational abilities to manage tasks, prioritise issues, and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.

Capacity to adapt to new technologies, tools, and evolving IT environments.

Strong understanding of hardware, software, and network systems, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
