We have partnered with a leading financial services company providing tax credit solutions and are looking for a highly skilled IT Manager to oversee and actively participate in daily IT operations while leading a small team of IT professionals. This position combines hands-on technical administration with leadership responsibilities, ensuring the stability, security, and compliance of our Microsoft-first environment.

Responsibilities

This role is approximately 70% individual contributor work and 30% people leadership.

Individual Contributor Responsibilities

  • Manage hybrid identity (AD DS + Entra Connect) and administer Entra ID, including Conditional Access, MFA, and SSO for applications like Salesforce, NetSuite, and Dynamics.

  • Administer NinjaOne for patching, remote support, and software deployment. You will also operate SentinelOne for policy tuning and threat hunting.

  • Configure and manage Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, SharePoint/OneDrive, and Teams.

  • Manage Fortinet firewalls, switches, and Wi-Fi, handling VPNs, VLANs, and firmware maintenance.

  • Maintain Windows Server and AD DS, including GPO hygiene, file/print services, and backups.

  • Manage service desk queues, problem and change management, and maintain the internal knowledge base.

  • Use PowerShell or Python to automate tasks and reduce manual work. You'll also coordinate IT projects, set timelines, and ensure deliverables are met.

  • Lead a team of 2-3 IT professionals, conducting standups, 1:1s, and performance reviews.

  • Enforce standard operating procedures, change control, and maintenance windows.

  • Collaborate with Security/Compliance and other teams on SOC 2 evidence and control operations.

  • Participate in the hiring and onboarding of new IT staff and vendors.

Qualifications

  • 6-10 years of progressive IT experience, with at least 2 years in a team lead or manager role with direct reports.

  • Expert administration of Microsoft 365 and Entra ID.

  • Hands-on experience with NinjaOne and SentinelOne administration.

  • Solid background in Windows Server/AD DS and hybrid identity.

  • Strong PowerShell skills for automation.

  • Demonstrated experience with ITSM practices and clear incident leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SharePoint governance, Teams lifecycle management, and email security.

  • Familiarity with SOC 2 Type II, including control ownership and evidence collection.

  • Relevant certifications such as ITIL Foundation, Microsoft (SC-300, MD-102), Fortinet NSE, or Security+ are a plus, but not required.
