About the Company
A fast-growing health technology startup transforming preventative healthcare delivery across the UK. The team is building scalable solutions that improve patient outcomes and modernise access to healthcare at scale.
They are now looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to help shape engineering culture, improve delivery velocity, and build high-performing teams capable of operating at startup pace.
The Role
As Engineering Manager, you will play a key leadership role across engineering delivery, team growth, and technical excellence. You’ll work closely with Product, Design, and Operations to build scalable systems and drive impactful outcomes for customers.
Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and grow high-performing engineering teams
Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and rapid execution
Improve engineering standards across architecture, testing, code quality, and delivery
Help evolve early-stage startup processes into scalable engineering practices
Partner cross-functionally with Product, Design, and Operations teams
Drive fast, reliable project delivery without compromising quality
Recruit and retain exceptional engineering talent
Coach engineers technically and professionally, supporting clear career progression
Contribute to architectural discussions around scalability, reliability, and platform performance
What We’re Looking For
Essential Experience
3+ years of engineering leadership experience within high-growth startups or scale-ups
Proven experience scaling teams, systems, and delivery processes
Strong leadership skills in fast-paced, high-accountability environments
Ability to balance speed with engineering rigor and operational stability
Technically credible with the ability to contribute to architectural decisions
Strong product mindset with a focus on customer impact
Passion for building high-performance engineering cultures
Technical Environment
Experience with some of the following technologies is beneficial:
Python
React
AWS or other public cloud platforms
Kubernetes
Distributed systems
Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
