We're working with an ambitious early-stage technology company building a new generation of software for real-time operational coordination.
The platform combines backend systems, algorithms and AI to help organisations manage complex operations where timing, resources and constantly changing conditions matter.
The business has already achieved significant early traction, including a live enterprise deployment and a strong commercial pipeline, following a recent multi-million-pound pre-seed raise.
They're now looking for a Founding Platform / DevOps Engineer to take ownership of the infrastructure and platform that will allow the product to scale reliably.
The Role
As a Founding Platform Engineer, you'll own much of the infrastructure, deployment and reliability layer from the ground up.
You'll work closely with the founders and engineering team to build a platform capable of supporting demanding real-world operations, while establishing the infrastructure and engineering practices required as the company scales.
This is not a traditional DevOps role focused purely on maintaining existing infrastructure. You'll be building the platform from an early stage and will have significant influence over technical decisions.
What you'll be doing
Design and build cloud infrastructure on AWS
Own deployment, infrastructure and platform architecture
Build and improve CI/CD pipelines
Establish monitoring, observability and reliability practices
Automate infrastructure and engineering workflows
Support containerised production workloads
Improve security, scalability and resilience
Work closely with backend and AI engineers to support production systems
Build infrastructure that can support real-time operational workloads
Help establish engineering standards and DevOps best practices
Troubleshoot complex production issues and drive them through to resolution
Work directly with the founders to shape the company's technical infrastructure
Support deployments into customer environments
What we're looking for
Strong experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, SRE or Cloud Engineering
Excellent AWS experience
Strong infrastructure and systems engineering fundamentals
Experience with CI/CD and automated deployments
Experience with infrastructure as code such as Terraform
Strong Linux experience
Experience with containers and orchestration
Understanding of networking, security and cloud architecture
Experience building reliable production systems
Strong automation and scripting skills, ideally Python or TypeScript
Comfortable working in a fast-moving early-stage environment
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to take ownership
Experience working with high-availability systems, event-driven architectures, data-intensive platforms or AI/ML infrastructure would be highly advantageous.
